“Morning into Night” had its premiere at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival and was selected for the Cambridge Film Festival in England. It marks Tony Award-winning actor Joanna Gleason’s film directing debut. A deeply personal story (which Gleason also wrote), the film was forged out of a time when isolation starkly contrasted with the need for family. Shot on location in wintry Connecticut, the film tells the story of a sister and brother who come to the beside of their dying mother and attempt to convince their strong-willed, stoic father to join them and say his goodbyes and move forward using a small, four-word phrase. Meanwhile, as their mother moves in and out of consciousness, she is suddenly flooded by memories — or dreams? — of the woman she was, or might have been. A stellar cast of some of New York’s most respected actors, including Patricia Kalember, Jenna Stern, Brennan Brown, Anika Larsen, Aleta Mitchell, Anne Keefe, Timothy Jerome, and Philip Hernandez.
